Unicenter Service Desk 5.5 and Unicenter ServicePlus Service Desk 5.5.1 are functionally one and the same products.

5.5.1 is a rebranding of Unicenter 5.5. The only difference is in the name and the artwork in the release.

Any new Service Desk customer should install 5.5.1. Existing customers upgrading from Release 5.0 or earlier of Unicenter Advanced Help Desk, ServiceIT, or Paradigm should upgrade to 5.5.1.

There is no reason for an upgrade from 5.5 to 5.5.1 as they both deliver exactly the same functionality.

A Service Pack will be available that corrects a number of defects that have been found in 5.5. This service pack is equally applicable to 5.5 installations and 5.5.1 installations.
