Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. In order to effectively support the latest computing environments and those of the future, we continually evaluate our products to determine their strategic direction. In order to focus our development and support efforts on our most strategic business tools we have decided we will be dropping support on Unicenter CA-7 Job Management Distributed Agent, Unicenter CA-Jobtrac Job Management Distributed Agent, Unicenter CA-Scheduler Job Management Distributed Agent and Unicenter Universal Job Management Agent for OpenVMS Alpha and Linux z/Series.

This means Unicenter CA-7 Job Management Distributed Agent, Unicenter CA-Jobtrac Job Management Distributed Agent and Unicenter CA-Scheduler Job Management Distributed Agent will no longer be enhanced and that maintenance and customer support for all versions of these products will continue only through July 30, 2006 or the end of your current maintenance or licensing term, whichever is later.

In addition, maintenance and customer support for Unicenter Universal Job Management Agent for OpenVMS Alpha r3.0 and Linux z/Series r1.1 will continue only through July 30, 2006 or the end of your current maintenance or licensing term, whichever is later.

If you have an active maintenance contract for Unicenter CA-7 Job Management Distributed Agent, Unicenter CA-Jobtrac Job Management Distributed Agent, Unicenter CA-Scheduler Job Management Distributed Agent, or Unicenter Universal Job Management Agent for OpenVMS Alpha or Linux z/Series, you can migrate to Unicenter Universal Job Management Agent r3.1 at no additional charge.

The Unicenter Universal Job Management Agent r3.1 provides cross-platform scheduling capabilities to the various Computer Associates job managers by enabling them to schedule and track jobs across the wide range of platforms on which the Agent runs. Some of the features in Unicenter Universal Job Management Agent r3.1 are:

  • Event Notification Facility usage is now optional
  • Option to install without operating system kernel hooks
  • Unicenter AutoSys Job Management High Availability Option Support
  • Supported platforms include: Windows NT, Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Server, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Tru64 UNIX, HP Nonstop, OS/400, OpenVMS Alpha, Linux RedHat (intel), Linux RedHat Advanced Server (intel), Linux RedHat Enterprise Server (intel), Linux SuSE Professional (intel), Linux SuSE Enterprise Server (intel), Linux SuSE (intel), Linux RedHat (z/Series), Linux SuSE (z/Series) and Linux SuSE Professional (z/Series)
