Issues Generic to DSM

RAC Not Created for Scalability Server - When the host uuid of a scalability server is changed, for example after a reinstall of the operating system, the software previously installed on that server will not be automatically reinstalled, and manual reinstallation is required. (TNGSDO #2239)

Exception in sqlexec.dll - Restarting the DSM processes when the SQL server is shutdown may cause an exception in the sqlexec.dll. This will not have any adverse effect to the environment. Restarting the database and the DSM processes (caf start) will resume normal operation. (DTSVMG #09)

Boot Server Plugin Times Out - Attempts to process requests for more than 15 concurrent operating system install jobs assigned to the same boot server may result in some messages being lost (machines will appear in to be waiting in a pending state). (TNGSDO #2236)

Login fails with Doublebyte chars - Login to the web console will fail if a user has extended (JPN or CHS) characters in the username of password. (TNGSDO #2237)

DSM Explorer to Enterprise Manager fails - Attempting to start the DSM Explorer to explore an Enterprise Manager may fail with error "Unable to subscribe for notifications with NOID 1.4.1: Session messaging Operation timed out CMG000010". Typically relaunching the DSM Explorer will successfully connect. (TNGSDO #2240)

AMS Data Missing - In the DSM Web Admin Console certain Asset Maintenance (AMS) inventory may be missing. (BSOAMS #2)

Content Download Failure - Content downloads from the CA content servers may sometimes fail with ""Unknown error occurred attempting evmUpdate_1_0. RC: -6" being logged". Subsequent download attempts will typically succeed. (DTSVMG #11)

Issues specific to DSM with an MDB hosted on Ingres

Remote Control Node Missing From GUI After upgrading from an r11.0 environment, the Remote Control Tree node is missing from the GUI. (TNGRCO #996)

Unable To Add Security Profile After upgrading from an r11.0 environment, the user is unable to add a new security profile. (DTSVMG #12)

Configuration Jobs Not Processed. After upgrade from a prior build, attempts to push policy to an agent will remain in a "scheduled" state. (DTSVMG #5)

Replication Engine crash. A replication engine running on a domain manager machine may crash if the enterprise manager database machine is rebooted during the replication task. The replication engine will need to be manually restarted. (TNGAMO #2600)

Uninstall of DSM Manager Fails. If a DSM Manager has already been installed and uninstalled, future attempts to uninstall may fail due to an incorrect dependency rule (DTSVMG #6)

Issues specific to DSM on LINUX

Upgrade of Linux Manager fails - The upgrade of the DSM manager (11.0 to 11.1) may fail. This will only occur where the DSM domain manager is configured for a remote MDB and the password of the ca_itrm user on both machines has been changed from the default value. The upgrade of remote MDB works is successful. (DTSVMG #7).

Shortcut Key Uninstall/Upgrade duplication - The same shortcut key (ALT-U) is used for both upgrade and uninstall. The behavior is only noted the second time the installation program is run. The uninstall option is selected when the user types the shortcut key, the actual uninstall will not take place without further confirmation. (DTSVMG #8)

GUI Crash adding Security Profile When adding a security profile based on a connection to an LDAP directory, and entering the username rather than selecting from the tree of available users will crash the GUI. Selecting the user rather than typing the details in will be successful. (TNGSDO #2235)

Issues specific to DSM on Windows

EGC GUI Crash - The EGC GUI may crash when creating a new folder if the Desktop folder has first been selected from the "Look in" drop down list. (EGC #29)

Increased Shutdown and Boot times When running the DSM agent in conjunction with the Microsoft Proxy Client users may experience increased shutdown and boot times of over 10 minutes on their computers. Microsoft have published a technote that describes the issue referencing a hotfix that needs to be applied to the proxy server. http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;EN-US;Q303757. (TNGSDO #2238)

WAC/WEB Services Problem on W2K - When installing the DSM Manager Web Services at the same time as the Web Console on a computer (Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server) where the Microsoft Hot fix KB893803(Windows Installer 3.1) has been applied, the creation of the Web Services Virtual Directory may fail. (DTSVMG #10)
