Today we are pleased to announce the general availability of a significant new release - Unicenter Network and Systems Management (Unicenter NSM) r11.1. We at CA take pride in continually striving to deliver meaningful innovations to help address your expanding business needs, such as those you will find in the Unicenter NSM r11 releases.

With Unicenter Network and Systems Management (Unicenter NSM) you can prioritize issues related to the availability and performance of critical business services based on their impact to the business, accelerate problem resolution, and improve service levels while reducing support costs. Unicenter NSM also provides a centralized and unified management platform to manage the heterogeneous IT infrastructures so prevalent in today's enterprises and organizations.

Building on CA's expertise in enterprise management, we have significantly revised our primary user interfaces and provided more built-in intelligence to our product line. New features for Unicenter NSM r11 as compared with the Unicenter NSM 3.1 release include:

  • A new Management Command Center - the lifeblood of operations management, provides an intelligent consolidation point for all operational activity.

  • Adaptive Configuration technology - more relevant alerts which result in less wasted administration time.

  • Continuous discovery of IT asset information stored in CA's Management Database (MDB).

  • Automated monitoring and response - enhanced with full escalation for alerts according to user policy.

  • Out of the box notification policies and capabilities - including Instant Messenger (IM), text messaging, wireless, etc. to ensure that the right information gets to the right people quickly and efficiently.

  • Product packaging consolidation - so you have one complete systems management solution, including performance and active directory monitoring.

Unicenter NSM r11.1 additionally provides

  • Support for a Microsoft SQL Server MDB in a Windows environment.

  • Built-in integration with both CA's Spectrum and eHealth network management products.

Continuing to deliver upon the Enterprise IT Management vision, CA recently released its Unicenter Database Management r11 suite of database management solutions. Included in the r11 suite is the new Unicenter Database Command Center (DCC), a no-charge solution for comprehensive multi-platform database administration, including the MDB provided with Unicenter NSM r11. A consistent look and feel helps you manage different databases with increased productivity, and helps reduce RDBMS complexity and management costs.
