Computer Associates is committed to providing the best software solutions to our clients.

DB Runner is one of these solutions. DB Runner is a product that provides database administration services.

In the past few months, as a part of our regular product planning cycle, we’ve reviewed the position of DB Runner in the marketplace, both from a sales and technology perspective. In so doing, we’ve discovered that while it still provides useful functions to some clients, its value to most clients and prospective clients in the market has declined significantly over the past few years, due mostly to changes in the technology landscape. We have determined that it is no longer feasible for us to continue investing in new development for DB Runner.

As a result of this, Computer Associates has decided to functionally stabilize DB Runner. Functionally stabilizing DB Runner means that the product will no longer be enhanced and that maintenance and support for DB Runner will continue only through the end of your current maintenance or licensing term.

ManageIT DBA, on the other hand, provides similar functionality to DB Runner, but utilizes more current technology and with greatly enhanced features. For those clients who wish to do so, we are prepared to provide ManageIT DBA in exchange for DB Runner as an upgrade at no additional fee. In the event that the prices for the two products differ, adjustments will be made to the maintenance and support charges.
