Functional Stabilization

CA is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. As a part of our regular product planning cycle, we have reviewed the position of Advantage Data Transformer and Advantage Data Transformer Enterprise Metadata Edition in the marketplace, both from a sales and technology perspective. We have discovered that while this product still provides useful functions to some customers, its value to most customers and prospective customers in the market has declined significantly over the past few years. Therefore, we have decided to functionally stabilize Advantage Data Transformer and Advantage Data Transformer Enterprise Metadata Edition and all of the Connectors that work with either product.

Functionally stabilizing a product means that there will be no new releases or further enhancements to this product. However, maintenance and support for this product will continue in accordance with your active maintenance contract.

Advantage Data Transformer Enterprise Metadata Edition customers, please note that this functional stabilization does NOT pertain to the CA Repository for Distributed Systems which was packaged with Advantage Data Transformer Enterprise Metadata Edition; the Repository is still available as a stand alone product. Drop Support for Ingres

In November of 2005 CA divested the Ingres product line to a newly formed Ingres Corporation. Recently Ingres Corporation introduced a new release of Ingres into the market-place. As such they have now announced arrangements for discontinuing support for Ingres releases 2.5 and r3. Information regarding this announcement was previously communicated to all our customers and is available on our support site at:

Currently Advantage Data Transformer supports an embedded copy of Ingres provided as part of the installation packaging. Due to Ingres Corporation's decision to discontinue support for these Ingres releases, we have taken this opportunity to assess our existing and future use of embedded Ingres. Based upon this analysis and feedback from our customers we have elected to remove support for Ingres in Advantage Data Transformer as of December 31, 2008. This change affects all current and planned Advantage Data Transformer releases but does not alter any formerly announced support expiration dates.

Not all Advantage Data Transformer customers will be impacted by this amendment to our database support. If you have not deployed embedded Ingres this announcement does not affect you.
