End of Service Announcement for eTrust Secure Content Manager r1.0

Dear Valued eTrust Secure Content Manager Customer:

To ensure our customers have the most up-to-date software available, w e would like to take this opportunity to review the support schedule for currently supported releases of CA Secure Content Manager.

Now that CA Secure Content Manager r8.0 is generally available, support for r1.0 will be discontinued as of May 31, 2008. At this time, we encourage you to plan for the migration to CA Secure Content Manager r8.0 as soon as possible so you will have uninterrupted support and benefits of the latest features and enhancements this release has to offer.

CA Secure Content Manager r8.0 is a fully integrated, policy-based, multi-layered content security solution that safeguards against the external transmission of proprietary, controlled or company-confidential information and intellectual property leakages and helps enterprises comply with government laws and regulations.

The new features in CA Secure Content Manager r8.0 are:

  • Enhanced Layers of Spam Filtering and Automatic Updates

  • Protection from Phishing, P2P File Sharing and Spyware

  • Web-based GUI for Real-time User Self-management

  • Ability to Create Custom Reports

  • Role-based Administration

  • Full Support for Active Directory

To help with this transition, we are offering the following:

  • A no-charge software upgrade from eTrust Secure Content Manager r1.0 to CA Secure Content Manager r8.0 for any customer with an active maintenance contract.

  • Documentation to help prepare you for your upgrade to CA Secure Content Manager r8.0 available at SupportConnect.ca.com.

  • CA Technology Services, available to provide consulting services for any or all parts of the upgrade, including analysis of the current system, preparation for the upgrade, testing, and performing the upgrade itself.
