Note to Customers with 250+ node count

In all eTrust Secure Content Manager (eTrust SCM) r8 large environments, with 250 nodes and more, it is highly recommended to use MS-SQL Server or MS-SQL Server Express as the database layer instead of Ingres.

According to your needs, you can install a dedicated SQL Server on a remote machine, or install SQL Server on the same machine as the eTrust SCM Quarantine Manager and/or Reporter.

Customers who have already installed eTrust SCM using Ingres, and would like to migrate to MS-SQL Server, can easily do so by using the migration tool provided within the SCM installation. For full details, see the eTrust SCM Readme, section 9.5.
