Explanation of terms

Directory installation DXserver, DXtools, DXconsole, Ingres, JXplorer, samples, and all documentation.
DXserver only Update for existing installations of the same version only. Upgrades the DXserver engine and all DXtools.
Web Components DXwebserver, JXweb, UDDI Client, DXmanager, and samples (require DXserver)

Java is no longer included in the packages listed above.
If you require an updated JRE, please download this from http://java.sun.com.

Lic98 is not included in the DXserver-only packages above. If you require an updated lic98, please download this from SupportConnect - select your platform from the download table.

  1. Prior to upgrading your Directory installation, YOU MUST backup the /config directory and /bin/schema.txt.
  2. If the current Ingres installation is being used by other applications, you can choose not to upgrade Ingres.
