Unicenter® CA-XCOM™ Data Transport® r11 for AS/400 RISC Beta Program
Beta program participants needed!

Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport r11 for AS/400 RISC is a multi-platform, value-added data transport solution, providing high-performance unattended file transfer with complete audit trails and reporting. Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport provides a single solution for sending and receiving files, as well as sending reports and jobs, to the industry's widest range of platforms.

Using TCP/IP or SNA, XCOM will transfer data from machine A to machine B. Data can be delivered from AS400 to z/OS, UNIX to Tandem, and to all the other supported platforms.

System Requirements for the Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport r11 for AS/400 RISC Beta Program:
  • iSeries Server V5R3 or above with PASE environment
  • Installation of TCP/IP and/or SNA as your required protocol(s)
Key features for r11:

SSL Support
The use of the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol to create a secure IP connection between Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport partners has been added. The SSL protocol allows for the encryption of the transmitted data as well as the authentication of the partner. OpenSSL will be used for the SSL protocol. The Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport TCP/IP Interface (TXPI) will be enhanced to make calls to OpenSSL for SECSOCKET=*YES. Certificates will need to be used to authenticate the identity of the remote partner.

Enhanced Log Display
The detailed log display in the CA-XCOM history display panels has been enhanced. One can now limit the display of transfers based on certain criteria such as:
  • a certain remote system
  • a specific USERID
  • a given date / time frame
  • a specific return code
Adding/Removing Sequence Numbers
Transfers to other CA-XCOM Data Transport for AS/400 partners now have the possibility of adding/removing sequence numbers through the use of UNIT=*ADDSEQ/*RMVSEQ.

Enhanced Notification
You can now control the level of notification that Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport for AS/400 provides. The options are:
  • ALL - Always notify regardless of whether transfer was successful.
  • WARN - Notify for warnings or errors only.
  • ERROR - Notify only if transfer fails with an error.
Five Digit Port Support
All Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport r11 IP ports can now support up to five digits. The following CA-XCOM AS/400 parameters include this new support:
  • TCPRMTPORT - Specifies the listening port for the Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport partner.
  • TCPLCLPORT - Specifies the listening port for the Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport AS/400.
  • TCPLCSPORT - Specifies the SSL listening port for the Unicenter CA-XCOM Data Transport AS/400.
Custom Code Table Support
Custom code table names are now supported in CA-XCOM for AS/400 used for specifying the translation table to be use by the remote UNIX or Windows r11 partner on a transfer by transfer basis.
