Beta Participants Needed for Measured Workload Pricing Tool
On June 14, CA introduced Measured Workload Pricing for customers running the z/VSE and VSE/ESA operating systems. Measured Workload Pricing bases licensing costs on measured system usage - rather than total potential hardware capacity - enabling customers to more closely align IT spending with changing business requirements.

We now invite you to participate in the beta program for the Measured Workload Reporting Tool (MWRT) component of Unicenter® CA-JARS® Resource Management for VSE.

Designed specifically to support the new Measured Workload Pricing program, the MWRT will collect system usage data and produce a Sub-Capacity Report, detailing MSU utilization for the previous quarter. This report is then used to calculate pricing for the quarter.

MWRT is a free of charge option of Unicenter CA-JARS and is available for all customers running CA products for z/VSE and VSE/ESA. You need not be an existing Unicenter CA-JARS customer to take advantage of this component.

In order to install and run CA-JARS MWRT, your system must have at least one LPAR configured. The MWRT can run in a VSE system running native or in a virtual VSE guest running under VM.

We are very excited about this new product component and hope you can join us in the beta program. Please contact your local support representative if you wish to participate.

As previously announced, support for the specified releases of the following products will be discontinued effective February 1, 2006. If you have not done so already, please upgrade to the current release of each product prior to February 1 to ensure uninterrupted technical support for these products.
