eTrust® CA-Top Secret® Enhances REFRESH Command
eTrust CA-Top Secret Security for VSE r3 has been enhanced to support specification of a jobname with the REFRESH command. Using a JOBNAME(*|jobname) operand, you can specify that the refresh operation is to be performed in all partitions ("*") or is to be restricted to partitions running a job having a jobname of "jobname".

The REFRESH command is used to refresh the incore security environment without a signon by rereading the TSS security file. An eTrust CA-Top Secret administrator may refresh the security environment of any ACID within his scope. This command is especially useful in multi-user address spaces such as CICS and DATACOM, where an ACID can have multiple concurrent instances. The use of the TSS REFRESH command precludes the requirement that a user log off and then log back on in order for administrative changes to take effect.

eTrust CA-Top Secret for VSE PTF QO75001 enables this enhancement and is documented in QI75003. These solutions can be obtained at SupportConnectSM, CA's technical support website. With the PTF applied, an ACID can be refreshed in a partition other than the partition from which the command is issued.

Please access ca.com/supportconnect to download the PTFs or contact CA Customer Support.
