Product Updates
IBM Discontinues Support of SPTAPE in z/VM 5.1.0
As of Version 5 Release 1 of z/VM, IBM has removed the SPTAPE command from the operating system. Therefore, CA will support SPXTAPE only as a backup format in Unicenter® VM:Spool® when running on that release of z/VM.

Under z/VM 5.1.0, Unicenter VM:Spool product initialization fails with a message identifying SPTAPE as an unsupported parameter.
