Repository/MVS XML Design Discussion

The XML Conference call was well received
with over 30 companies participating.

Repository/MVS 3.8 Service Pack 1 Gen Level
0105 (Version 3.8.0B)
---------------------------------------------

As mentioned last month, Repository/MVS 3.8
Service Pack 1 Gen Level 0105 (PR38B1)
will be generally available in June 2001.

The tapes will NOT be automatically shipped
to all users. You will be sent a letter
with instructions for ordering the tapes.

Two major enhancements are included on
Service Pack 1:
  -  UDB 6.1 Interface
  -  LMP Implementation

- UDB 6.1 Interface:
  -  The UDB 6.1 Interface for UNIX and
     NT is GA on the Service Pack.

- LMP Implementation:
  -  This is CA's License Management
     Program (LMP).
  -  A letter was sent to all customers
     on March 1, 2001, describing LMP.
     The letter can be found on the
     Repository/MVS eSupport page.

White Papers Available on eSupport

There are several white papers available on
eSupport. See below for information on
accessing eSupport. Once you're in, select
Platinum Repository MVS, then under General
Technical Information, click on Technical
Documentation Index.

Of special interest is Susan Heath's PowerPoint
presentation from CA-World 2000. It is under
the heading "Generic Tools to Load and Unload
Repository Data". It has valuable information
on the new REUSE feature in BATCHLOAD and
several other worthwhile items.

The other topics currently available are:

  Documentation.
- DB2 ABEND S04E, REASON 00E20004, running
  PLATINUM Repository/MVS Release 3.6 and
  later.
