Upgrading DB2
---------------------------------------------

When you upgrade DB2, you should take the
following steps with regard to your
Repository:

 1. Go into StarTCC and check APAR LI75172.
     - This will tell you whether your new
version of DB2 is supported by your
       version of the Repository.

 2. Change the DDSDYN Module in your LOADLIB.
     - This process is described in the
installation Guide in Chapter 2 under
the heading "Copying a DDSDYNn Module."
If there is no DDSDYN Module for your
version of DB2, then use the latest
       one.

 3. Edit your Repository.ISPPLIB(DBXPARM) File.
     - You will need to change the DB2 Version
parameter (DB2VER). If the DB2 runtime
libraries have changed, you will also
       need to change DB2DBRM, DB2LD2, DB2DBR2.
If the subsystem name has changed, you
will need to modify the SUBS parm.

 4. Rebind the Repository Plans and Packages.
     - See "Binding All DB2 Plans and Packages"
       in the Installation Guide.

Field Help
---------------------------------------------

Most of you know that if you put a question
mark in a field and hit Enter, you will get
a list of permissible values for that field if
it has a code table. But did you know that
if you put a question mark in the field, then
put your cursor on HELP on the command bar,
then hit Enter, you will - in many cases -
get a general description of the field?

For example, putting a ? on LANGUAGE and
hitting Enter, gives you:
 SEL. CODE DESCRIPTION
 _ NONE
 _ E NATURAL EL
 _ F FORTRAN
 _ G ADA
 _ H C
 _ J JCL

etc.
But, putting a ? on LANGUAGE, and putting your
cursor on HELP, and hitting Enter, gives you:
SIZE-------MODULE: DBXDISP----------------MAX
¦ OK HELP ¦
