General Information
The Use of IP Node Monitor Groups
As you are most likely aware, the IP Node monitor feature of Unicenter® NetMaster™ Network Management for TCP/IP allows for the diagnostic and monitoring capabilities of important nodes in your network. From a diagnostic perspective, some of the things you can do are issuing simple commands, such as ping a node, perform a traceroute, or view information in the node's MIBs. From a monitoring perspective, the IP node monitor detects when routers are not available, or can detect when a monitored attribute has an alert condition, and, on alert conditions, do a variety of things such as raise alerts on alert monitor, cut a problem ticket, execute a procedure, or send an email.

The information for the monitored attributes is saved internally and can be displayed as hourly and daily statistics from the IP Node Monitor screens or the WebCenter GUI.

To learn more about this feature, see The Use of IP Node Monitor Groups.
