Ingres® Drop Support of Release 2.0
Dear Valued Advantage™ Ingres® Customer:

Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) is constantly striving to improve our software and services to best meet your needs. As we work to develop superior functionality and embrace advanced technology, it is sometimes necessary to discontinue support of some of our older product releases in order to focus development efforts on new releases.

As previously announced, CA support for the Advantage™ Ingres® 2.0 product is ending as of May 1, 2005. This release will now join the Ingres 6.x and 1.x releases as functionally stabilized with no further support.

After support ends, if you wish to continue to be able to contact CA's Customer Support team regarding your 2.0 or older installation, you will need to have a Lifeline Support contract in place. Telephone or email contact with CA's Advantage Ingres Customer Support staff will only be available for Ingres 2.0 and older releases if you purchase a Lifeline Support contract.

Clients without such a contract in place by May 1, 2005 will be referred to the existing available online SupportConnectSM resources.

Please note - if you are a customer of another CA technology that bundles Ingres 2.0 as a data store, then your support will remain in effect as long as the other CA technology remains "Generally Available" (GA). Also note that the following Advantage Ingres versions continue to be GA and supported: 2.0 on Alpha OpenVMS, 6.4 on VAX VMS, and all 2.0 Double Byte releases.

If you feel you need access to CA's Advantage Ingres Customer Support teams past May 1 and do not feel comfortable with only SupportConnect as your main source of information, contact your local CA office and ask about Lifeline Support.

To update your system to a supported release, CA Technology Services™ can assist you in upgrading quickly and with the minimum time needed. You can check out the offerings that we provide at: ca.com/Solutions/CollateralList.asp?CCT=62434&ID=1013.
