Upcoming CA IDMS™ Modernization Webcast Series
Modernization of legacy resources is a hot topic today for CA IDMS customers who are looking to maximize the business value of their CA IDMS assets. CA IDMS™ SQL allows you to access your CA IDMS™/DB network data directly with SQL. Combined with CA IDMS™ Server, CA IDMS SQL gives you the flexibility to enable your CA IDMS assets to participate in SOA and to write modern CA IDMS applications using industry standard APIs based on SQL such as JDBC, ODBC, and .NET. By using routines, you can also invoke CA IDMS business logic through SQL and SQL-based APIs. SQL routines are available today in CA IDMS in the form of table procedures, procedures, and functions.

We are offering a three-part summer webcast series on the use of SQL routines to help you make your implementation more efficient and robust.

This series begins on July 22 at 11:00 a.m. ET with an overview of external SQL routines. The first webcast will cover the differences between table procedures, other procedures, and functions, when to consider using each type, and how to define and implement each type.

The series continues on August 5 at 11:00 a.m. ET with an in-depth discussion on table procedures with details on how to design, code, and deploy them. The use of CA IDMS SQL Quick Bridge for creating table procedures will be presented and will include a live demo.

The series concludes on August 19 at 11:00 a.m. ET with an exploration of external procedures including how to use new or existing CA ADS™ process code to create them. Testing and debugging examples will also be presented.

Cal Domingue, CA IDMS Principal Support Engineer and popular speaker at CA IDMS events, is the presenter for this series.

Registration is now open for the July 22, 2008, webcast. Watch the CA Webcast Event page for the August webcasts. Plan now to attend this informative webcast series.
