CA IDMS™ and z/OS 1.9
On September 28, 2007, CA IDMS continued its long tradition of day one support for new IBM operating systems with the GA announcement of z/OS 1.9.

CA IDMS customers upgrading to z/OS 1.9 should take note of the new default setting of the AllowUserKeyCSA DIAG option in z/OS 1.9. See Knowledge Document TEC433613 on SupportConnectSM for important information about how this default setting may impact your planning and implementation of CA IDMS on z/OS 1.9.

Understanding Documentation Release Numbering
You might wonder why the release number on a document's title page does not always correspond to the current product release and service pack numbers. Be assured that all documentation delivered for the product, regardless of the numbers on the title page, support your use of the current product release. The release and service pack numbers change only when a significant portion of a document changes to support a new or updated product release. If no substantive changes are required for the documentation, the documentation is not republished. For example, the documentation for CA IDMS™ r16 SP4 is still valid for CA IDMS r16 SP5 since there are no changes to the manuals. In the future, the release number only will appear on the document covers.

To indicate that the documentation has changed, we update the edition number on the cover page. First editions do not have an edition number on the cover. At each new release, the updated manuals are designated as first editions.

Note: Technical Publications is very interested in your feedback, comments, and suggestions about the CA IDMS documentation. On the Documentation page on SupportConnectSM, you will find a link for the CA Technical Publications Feedback Form and a Tech Pubs Survey. Please visit these pages to provide general feedback on the structure or organization of the product documentation. Product issues should always be opened through your normal Technical Support channels.
