Multiple Vendor Anti-Virus Software Detection Evasion Vulnerability
With the assistance of iDEFENSE, Computer Associates has identified a medium-risk vulnerability in a shared component of eTrust™ Antivirus which may allow a specially crafted .ZIP file to bypass virus detection. A number of CA products embed this technology including solutions from eTrust™, BrightStor®, and others.

Customers are encouraged to visit the CA support web site below for more information about this vulnerability, a list of products and platforms that are affected, and remediation procedures.

Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) is pleased to invite our customers to participate in the various eTrust beta programs to validate the new or updated eTrust products in your own environment and give us your feedback on product enhancements, quality, and the beta program.

Your contribution to this critical product test cycle is directly related to the success of the generally available (GA) release of eTrust products and ensures CA delivers solutions that are ready to meet your real-world requirements.

As a participant in the beta program, you will communicate directly with the eTrust Research and Development team to investigate and address any reported problems, questions, or comments.

eTrust™ Web Services Security
CA is pleased to announce that the new eTrust Web Services Security product will be entering limited beta in November.

The eTrust Web Services Security product enforces access policies, secures web services from eavesdropping, and allows auditing of Web services use. Enterprise level scalability and reliability is provided through leveraging CA's industry leading eTrust™ Directory technology. eTrust Web Services Security recognizes and follows the industry standards in XML encryption, authentication, and authorization, and can provide joint security with other standards-compliant security solutions. Alternatively, eTrust Web Services Security can provide a comprehensive non-intrusive solution, protecting both Client and Server by using XML encryption and XML signatures to secure the information in transit, without requiring any modification to existing client or server software.

eTrust Directory r8 SP1 is now available.

CA is pleased to announce that eTrust Directory r8 SP1 is now GA and can be downloaded from our website at SupportConnect ^SM.

eTrust Directory r8 SP1 delivers further improvements to the product's industry-leading performance, scalability, and reliability. It includes the following enhancements:

DXserver - multiwrite groups, loadshare groups, cache-only DSA
DXmanager - enhanced monitoring and statistics
Documentation - expanded and revised Administrator Guide

Customers will find it easy to upgrade from any previous version of eTrust Directory. Customers using eTrust Directory Version 3.x and eTrust Directory Version 4.x should upgrade to eTrust Directory r8 SP1 to take advantage of the many improvements in this release.

eTrust™ Single Sign-On Integrates with Reiner SCT
eTrust Single Sign-On reduces helpdesk costs and improves security by promoting the use of two-factor authentication such as biometrics, tokens, and smart cards.

The next release of the eTrust Single Sign-On Certificate Authentication Agents adds support for Reiner SCT cyberJack pinpads. eTrust Single Sign-On Certificate Authentication Agent works with the following SmartCards:

Axalto (formerly Schlumberger) e-gate

eTrust Single Sign-On Certificate Authentication Agent supports the industry certificate standard, including: revocation status checking via CRL, CRLDP, and OCSP; detection of card/token removal and locking of station; and easy integration with your existing SSO installation.
