Atos Origin's Use of eTrust™ Security Command Center for the 2004 Summer Olympics
eTrust Security Command Center was used by Atos Origin, our customer and the official IT sponsor for the Olympics, to manage all of the key security-related requirements for the Athens Olympic Games' Technology Operations Center - including all of the security incidents that arose across the complex IT infrastructure. The Olympic Games concluded on Sunday, August 29, and we are proud to announce that eTrust Security Command Center came through with flying colors. Atos Origin was able to successfully achieve 100 percent uptime for the Olympic Games' critical systems - despite an average of 243,000 security alerts daily. Atos Origin will be joining us on stage to discuss its success with eTrust Security Command Center on October 19, 2004, at the Gartner IT Expo.

There have been many articles published in the past month in publications such as USA Today, Information Week, and Information World discussing Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) and security at the Olympics. Visit "Going for Security Gold" for more information.

eTrust™ Beta Program Updates
Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) is pleased to invite you to participate in the various eTrust beta programs, which allow you to validate the new or updated eTrust products in your own environment. Additionally, your involvement lets you provide us with your feedback on product enhancements, quality, and the beta program itself.

Your contribution to this critical product test cycle is directly related to the success of the generally available (GA) release of eTrust products. It also helps ensure CA delivers solutions that are ready to meet your real-world requirements.

As a participant in the beta program, you will communicate directly with the eTrust Research and Development team to investigate and address any reported problems, questions, or comments.
  • eTrust™ Identity and Access Management Suite r8.
    We are pleased to announce the beta program for our complete set of eTrust Identity and Access Management solutions. eTrust Identity and Access Management Suite r8 is CA's delivery on our vision of integrated identity and access management. It is one of the broadest industry solutions to the multifaceted problem of managing identity and associated access across employee, customer, and partner domains. The complete solution set has been enhanced with new levels of integration as well as new features on a per-product basis. Furthermore, the suite is completely modular, allowing you to continue using individual products while offering new opportunities to reduce cost and increase security by selecting multiple products from an integrated solution set.

    eTrust Identity and Access Management Suite r8 contains products that you are already familiar with, along with a few new solutions:

    Some of the existing products include:
    • eTrust™ Admin for identity provisioning
    • eTrust™ Web Access Control for extranet access management and web single sign-on
    • eTrust™ Access Control for server access management
    • eTrust™ Single Sign-On for enterprise single sign-on

    New products:
    • eTrust™ Web Services Security for Web services access management
    • eTrust™ Federated Identity Management for standard-based web single sign-on

    This beta program has two major objectives:
    • Provide feedback on the integration capabilities introduced. For example, there is now a new user interface shared across all the products enabling seamless integration between any combinations of the products.
    • Provide feedback on the new features of the individual products. For example, the workflow engine in eTrust Admin has been completely revised to include a new workflow design tool.

  • eTrust™ Network Forensics r8.
    We are pleased to announce the availability of the beta program for eTrust Network Forensics r8. This release is focused on major "under the hood" improvements. The enhanced architecture includes an imbedded database, enabling increased performance, better data handling, system availability, and a turn-key system on staged appliances.

    New and updated features:
    • Imbedded Database. eTrust Network Forensics offers the Ingres® r3 database back-end out of the box. Oracle 9.x is also supported.
    • Turn-Key System. In the single platform implementation, all product components are seamlessly integrated from data collection to graphical reporting.
    • Cost Efficient. Ingres alleviates the need to purchase or provision database licensing separately. Data management schema and query mechanisms are included.
    • Enhanced, Flexible Architecture. System component messaging has been enhanced to address effective distributed monitoring.
    • System Availability. eTrust Network Forensics checks its internal component services to help ensure healthy operation. In addition, it will automatically restart failed services to reduce down time. Parameters for restarting services may be defined through the user interface.
    • Data Management. eTrust Network Forensics can be configured with several data retention options, defining the length of time that data will be retained and active in the database. This feature prevents creep of database table sizes. End-to-end data management helps ensure proper dissemination of collected data. Additionally, data throttling functionality manages data flow between components.
    • Appliance Option. eTrust Network Forensics product components are now available on an appliance. The appliances arrive preloaded with the eTrust™ Network Forensics Collector or eTrust™ Network Forensics Loader software and require minimal customization to operate.
    • Performance. eTrust Network Forensics system performance is enhanced by utilizing a modified appliance configuration. Additionally, eTrust Network Forensics can scale to gigabit collections by using a Top Layer Networks load balancer, a ca smart™ certified partner and product.
    • Stability. eTrust Network Forensics appliances are optimized to work with eTrust Network Forensics, which account for a stable and more scalable architecture between product components.

ET405: eTrust™ Admin: Advanced Configuration.
In eTrust Admin: Advanced Configuration, you will install eTrust Admin and use CA's tested Best Practices as a basis for configuring eTrust Admin in your environment, maximizing your administration staff's time and productivity. You will configure the web interfaces for optimal use in your environment. You will install and configure the password synchronization capabilities of eTrust Admin. To help you utilize the functionality of both the eTrust Admin Manager GUI and command line abilities, several exercises will aid you in writing and using batch utilities and scripts. The capabilities of eTrust Admin will be enhanced through custom correlation and use of the Universal Feed Option. As system availability is critical for implementation success, you will establish failover procedures. ET482: eTrust™: Antivirus.
You will learn how to develop a successful strategy for implementing eTrust Antivirus in the enterprise. To ensure a successful roll-out in your enterprise, you will use the appropriate eTrust components and processes. Using independently tested and industry proven eTrust Antivirus technology, after attending this class, you will be able to centralize management of eTrust Antivirus to improve security, protect the enterprise at the perimeter.
