Beta Program Updates
We are now inviting our customers to participate in the beta programs listed below so they can validate the product in their own environment. In addition, we are seeking their feedback on the product enhancements, quality, and the beta program itself. Please see ca.com/betas for all the details.
  • eTrust™ Access Control for UNIX v5.3. eTrust Access Control provides proactive, host-based security that protects mission-critical servers and safeguards confidential data stored on restricted systems. The recently released eTrust Access Control v5.1 SP2 has added more platform support as well as cumulative maintenance. To continue offering enhanced features and improving product quality, we have completed more than 50 customer Demand Analysis Requests (DARs) in the next release of eTrust Access Control.

Our eTrust Access Control UNIX for customers can now perform future upgrades and apply maintenance fixes without the need to restart the machine. More performance enhancement options have been added, along with a more flexible authorization option to ease day-to-day security management. And, for the first time, Unicenter® customers can preview and test the new Unicenter security module for future migration on Unicenter server security.

  • eTrust™ Admin 8.0. eTrust Admin provides security management and operational automation through role-based user provisioning. A key component of the eTrust™ Identity and Access Management Suite, eTrust Admin enables organizations to automate the management of user accounts across multiple, heterogeneous systems, applications, and directories. This helps an enterprise raise security levels, lower costs, and more quickly respond to organizational changes.

eTrust Admin 8.0 has been enhanced with many new and updated features, as well as many new exciting options for third-party product integration. Some exciting new highlights include:
    • Custom Logic. eTrust Admin 8.0 allows users to include custom logic during the process of user provisioning.
    • Custom Correlation. eTrust Admin 8.0 now allows organizations to use customer-defined correlation algorithms when mapping global users to existing accounts.
    • Custom Attributes. eTrust Admin 8.0 increases the number of user-defined attributes on the global user and the role objects.
    • Password Quality Management. eTrust Admin 8.0 allows users to implement a comprehensive password policy for both global user accounts and system accounts.
    • Role Management Within Work Flow. The time required to map user accounts to global users is now significantly reduced.
    • Nonstop Operations. eTrust Admin 8.0 documentation provides information on how to configure the eTrust Admin server for failover and load balancing in complex configurations. This enables the eTrust Admin server to take advantage of clustering or RAID technology present on the system.
    • Additional Reports. eTrust Admin 8.0 adds standard reports on accounts added or deleted during a specified period of time.
    • eTrust™ Audit Integration. The combined audit capabilities of eTrust Admin, which can provide log entries for all administrative actions across all systems being provisioned, and eTrust Audit provide unparalleled capability for tracking and reporting on user identity-related events.

  • eTrust™ Admin Option for PeopleSoft Feed v2. eTrust Admin Option for PeopleSoft Feed lets you synchronize PeopleSoft users with eTrust Admin global users. By using role-based administration, you can automatically manage the PeopleSoft accounts required in today's complex environments.

eTrust Admin Option for PeopleSoft Feed can automatically:
    • Create, modify, or delete global users and associated accounts (if role-based administration is used)
    • Generate batch report requests

eTrust Admin Option for PeopleSoft Feed v2 builds on a tradition of excellence for automating user account administration. This release takes that automation to the next level, providing seamless integration with PeopleSoft HR. eTrust Admin Option for PeopleSoft Feed now makes immediate updates to user accounts on any system or application as soon as someone enters PeopleSoft HR. In addition, new tools are also included in this release for easily setting up the option. For example, a new configuration wizard allows administrators to easily map data fields in the PeopleSoft HR database with their corresponding attributes on the global users in eTrust Admin and business transformation logic used to identify users' roles - without any need to write code.

  • eTrust™ Antivirus v7.1. eTrust Antivirus is an award-winning antivirus solution that provides superior, real-time, enterprise-wide protection against today's most prevalent security threat — viruses. Based on advanced technology, it reduces virus infections, simplifies and automates updating, and eases administration. Dual scanning engines, superior management, free signature updates, and CA's eTrust TARGET (Threat Analysis and Response Global Emergency Team) protect today's networks against potentially damaging and costly virus incidents. When used for perimeter protection, eTrust Antivirus safeguards your enterprise from potentially harmful executables and downloads before they can enter your network.

eTrust Antivirus now delivers the highest level of security management with more than 60 customizable reports and a unified management console. eTrust Antivirus v7.1 is available for beta testing on the following platforms:
    • NetWare
    • HP-UX 11.0 11i
    • Linux for S/390 and z/Series
    • Windows 32-bit (coming soon!)
    • Windows 64-bit

  • eTrust™ CA-Examine® Auditing for z/OS and OS/390 Release 3.5. eTrust
CA-Examine Auditing for z/OS and OS/390 (eTrust CA-Examine) helps identify system, application, and security exposures in z/OS and OS/390 environments. eTrust
CA-Examine identifies exposures resulting from improper system configuration and operational errors, as well as intentional circumvention of controls and attacks. As a part of an overall security and software management program, it is highly effective at helping to ensure the integrity of the base operating system and application processing environments.

As a member of the beta program, you will work directly with the eTrust CA-Examine Research and Development team to investigate and resolve any reported problems, pose questions, or make comments. You are also encouraged to join the beta program teleconference calls. Through weekly teleconferences, you will be briefed by the Research and Development team and have the opportunity to share your experience with other beta program participants.

    • Symbolic Date Variable Substitution for Batch
    • Authorized Program Facility (APF) Analysis Function for UNIX System Service (USS)/Hierarchical File System (HFS)

For more information on the features of the eTrust CA-Examine Auditing Release 3.5 or to participate in the beta program, please email Claudia Fischer or refer to the beta program questionnaire on the SupportConnect website.
