eTrust™ Beta Program Updates
Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) is pleased to invite you to participate in the various eTrust beta programs, which allow you to validate the new or updated eTrust products in your own environment. Additionally, your involvement lets you provide us with your feedback on product enhancements, quality, and the beta program itself.

Your contribution to this critical product test cycle is directly related to the success of the GA release of eTrust products. It also helps ensure CA delivers solutions that are ready to meet your real-world requirements.

As a participant in the beta program, you will communicate directly with the eTrust Research and Development team to investigate and address any reported problems, questions, or comments.

  • eTrust™ Identity and Access Management Suite r8.
    We are pleased to announce the beta program for our complete set of eTrust Identity and Access Management solutions. eTrust Identity and Access Management Suite r8 is CA's delivery on our vision of integrated identity and access management. It is one of the broadest industry solutions to the multifaceted problem of managing identity and associated access across employee, customer, and partner domains. The complete solution set has been enhanced with new levels of integration as well as new features on a per-product basis. Furthermore, the suite is completely modular, allowing you to continue using individual products while offering new opportunities to reduce cost and increase security by selecting multiple products from an integrated solution set.

    eTrust Identity and Access Management Suite r8 contains products that you are already familiar with, along with a few new solutions:

    Some of the existing products include:
    • eTrust™ Admin for identity provisioning
    • eTrust™ Web Access Control for extranet access management and web single sign-on
    • eTrust™ Access Control for server access management
    • eTrust™ Single Sign-On for enterprise single sign-on

    New products:
    • eTrust™ Web Services Security for Web services access management
    • eTrust™ Federated Identity Management for standard-based web single sign-on

    This beta program has two major objectives:
    • Provide feedback on the integration capabilities introduced. For example, there is now a new user interface shared across all the products enabling seamless integration between any combinations of the products.
    • Provide feedback on the new features of the individual products. For example, the workflow engine in eTrust Admin has been completely revised to include a new workflow design tool.

CA License Management Beta
Over the past few years, CA has made great strides to simplify the entire software licensing process for our customers.

Starting with the initial purchase of software licenses, CA offers FlexSelect LicensingSM as the industry's most flexible software purchasing and payment plan to help meet the needs of our customers.

Continuing its efforts to reduce licensing complexity, CA is pleased to announce that it has now opened registration to the CA License Management Beta Program. With the new CA License Management beta solution, CA is taking another step forward and simplifying the licensing process at the implementation level, helping customers to easily manage and track CA product installations and licensing in their physical IT environments.

CA License Management is a complimentary solution from CA that simplifies the management of CA software licenses in your IT environment with a centralized point of control.

CA License Management offers discovery, reporting, and request generation features that will help alleviate otherwise manual, time-consuming, and complex processes associated with tracking software licenses, inventorying product installations and requesting new licenses, and/or changes to your current license implementation.

eTrust™ Directory
The next release of eTrust Directory r8 SP1 is scheduled for October 2004.

eTrust Directory r8 SP1 delivers further improvements to the product's industry-leading performance, scalability, and reliability. It also includes the following enhancements:
  • DXserver - multi-write groups, load-share groups, cache-only DSA
  • DXmanager - enhanced monitoring and statistics, administrator security
  • Documentation - expanded and revised administrator guide
You will find it easy to upgrade from any previous version of eTrust Directory. If you are using eTrust Directory r3.x and eTrust Directory r4.x, you should upgrade to eTrust Directory r8 SP1 to take advantage of the many improvements in this release.
