  • eTrust™ Access Control Release 5.3 for UNIX went GA on April 13, 2004. The new release contains several new features, including:
    • Reboot-free installation and patches
    • Enhanced caching for performance improvement
    • Better management tools with hierarchical groups and containers

  • eTrust™ Directory Release 8.0, the first Service Pack to eTrust™ Directory Version 4.1, is now GA. eTrust Directory Release 8.0 delivers further improvements to the product's industry-leading performance, scalability and reliability. Click here to read more.

This new release signals the end of updates to eTrust™ Directory Version 3.6. Customers using eTrust Directory Version 3.6 and eTrust™ Directory Version 4.x should upgrade to eTrust Directory Release 8.0 to take advantage of the many improvements in this release.

Click here to download the latest update for eTrust™ Directory.

  • eTrust™ Intrusion Detection Release 3.0 is a unique intrusion prevention solution that enables you to detect and defend against network attacks while enforcing acceptable usage policies around URL filtering. Click here for more information.

  • eTrust™ Single Sign-On (eTrust SSO) Release 7.0 is now available. eTrust SSO Release 7.0 can be configured so that end users only have to authenticate (log on and identify themselves) once to gain access to all of their secure desktop and web browser-based applications. This authentication mechanism takes many forms, including Windows Authentication, LDAP Authentication, biometrics, smart cards and more.

eTrust SSO Release 7.0 provides a number of major improvements and additions to functionality from the previous version, eTrust™ Single Sign-On Release 6.5 SP2, including:
    • Session management: controls the number of active sessions an end user may have open
    • Application migration: moves sessions from one machine to another (requires Citrix)
    • Application list refresh: changes to a user's application list on the server are automatically picked up by the client
    • Shared workstations: configures secure kiosk-type workstations accessible by many users
    • LDAP support: authenticates to and stores user information in external LDAP repositories, such as Active Directory
    • New architecture: performs administration using Policy Manager 2.0 (which replaces the 6.5 SSO Assistant) and Policy Server 2.0 (which replaces the 6.5 SSO Server) - providing secure server processing and server farm failover capabilities. eTrust™ SSO Release 7.0 Policy Server uses two repositories to provide secure access and performance scalability - the proven performance benefits of eTrust Directory are used to scale to large number of users and the proven security benefits of eTrust™ Access Control are used to secure static resources.

  • eTrust™ Vulnerability Manager. Butler Group recently conducted a review of CA's eTrust Vulnerability Manager, a rack-mounted appliance that automates the discovery of vulnerable enterprise resources and simplifies the difficult remediation process. The cost to enterprises of failing to effectively manage vulnerabilities is significant. eTrust Vulnerability Manager is a simple-to-use, yet flexible means to address this problem.
