Unicenter® Patch Management Update Addressing Microsoft Security Re-Release
To accommodate recent Microsoft Security issues, the BSO Content Team has released modified versions of components of the August (0608) release of Unicenter Patch Management's Microsoft Security Roll-up packages.

Microsoft recently announced the re-release of Microsoft Security Bulletin MS06-042 to address an issue affecting Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 customers as discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 923762. Users running Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on computers running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack (SP1) or Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 (SP4) have experienced unexpected program exits from Internet Explorer while viewing a Web site that uses the HTTP 1.1 protocol and compression, after installing the cumulative security update. The update also creates a vulnerability, leaving systems susceptible to remote code execution.

Unicenter Patch Management users that have already rolled out the August (0608) release of Unicenter Patch Management's Microsoft Security Roll-ups to affected operating systems should refer to the Microsoft Security Advisory at www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/923762.mspx for instructions and updated downloads.

Unicenter Patch Management users that have not already rolled out the August (0608) release should apply the following updated packages where applicable:
