Unicenter® Patch Management Addressing Issues Raised by Homeland Security
The U. S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has recommended that recently published Microsoft operating system security content be distributed as a priority. This new content is currently provided in an easily distributed format from CA's Unicenter Patch Management (Unicenter PM).

The DHS recently issued a press release recommending that users apply Microsoft Windows operating system security patch MS06-040 as quickly as possible. This marks the first time that the government organization has officially endorsed a specific software security patch. According to the press release, the vulnerability is capable of impacting "government systems, private industry and critical infrastructure, as well as individual and home users."

Security patch MS06-040 and the remainder of the security patches released by Microsoft on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, are included in the recently published 0608 release of Unicenter Patch Management product's Microsoft Security Hot-fix Roll-up Packages. For
up-to-date information on available Unicenter Patch Management patches, please visit the Unicenter Patch Management Information Center.

More information on Microsoft MS06-040 security patch can be found on the Microsoft web site.
