Inter-Product Components (CA-IPC) r11 Beta Participants Needed
The CA-IPC development team is currently soliciting Beta test sites for r11. A key feature of this new release is support for Advantage™ CA-Ideal® for CA-Datacom® r11 as well as for VPE to run under CICS link bridge which supports the new HostBridge interface. CA's enhanced Beta program provides the registration form at this link.

Participants Needed Soon for Upcoming Beta Programs
The Advantage™ CA-Datacom® development organization is currently in the development stage for Advantage™ CA-Ideal® for CA-Datacom® r11 and Advantage™ CA-Datacom® Database Server Option r11. Beta test programs will begin in the next few months for these new releases. Consider being a part of testing the new enhancements introduced in these important new releases. Watch for announcements in future E-News issues that will explain how you can register online.

Starting the JDBC Proxy Server on UNIX System Services in Batch
With Advantage™ CA-Datacom® Database Server Option r5 SP2, you can run a JDBC Proxy Server on z/OS UNIX System Services. Rather than using OMVS to activate, you can submit batch JCL to start this proxy at z/OS startup. Click here for details.

What Dataset Retention Date is Used With BrightStor® CA-Dynam®/D Disk Management for VSE?
When Advantage™ CA-Datacom®/DB dynamically extends a dataset using BrightStor
CA-Dynam/D Disk Management for VSE, the retention period will default to that of the original dataset. If you do not have a retention on the original dataset, the default of the new extent will be 7 days. You can avoid this situation by running a DBUTLTY CXX Report. Click here for details.

Deleting Advantage™ CA-Ideal® for CA-Datacom® Orphaned VLS Members Using IDUTILTY
Have you ever received an error indicating that your VLS source library is full? The error is IDADERRP17 INTERR: LIB enqueue timeout, LIB=name. This may be caused due to orphaned VLS members. Click here for more information about what to do.
