Computer Associates believes that their
partnership with CA Recognized User Groups is
of great importance and endorses and encourages
the formation of user groups, advisory boards,
and executive committees. We recognize they
play an important role in ensuring active and
ongoing communications between our clients
and our development and support personnel.
In particular, we rely on the support of all
regional and national user groups to actively
support our annual user conferences which
provide a forum for discussing current product
releases, product enhancements, and directions.

StarTCC Advanced Search Techniques
=============================================

If you are a StarTCC user, we would like to
let you know about the advanced search techniques
that you may not be using. Browsing by Product
Name may not list all solutions for a particular
product as some CA products contain shareable
components. For example, CA-InterTest for CICS
shares components with the CA-Realia II
Workbench Mainframe options.

Therefore, we suggest that you search by Product
Group which will list all solutions for a product.

There are two advanced search methods by product
group:

TO SEARCH BY PRODUCT GROUP ONLY:
From the main StarTCC menu --
(http://supportconnectw.ca.com/premium/startcc/startcc.asp),
click on "Browse/Download Solutions". Under
Search Type, click the radio button for "Product
Group". On the Product Group drop down box,
select "INTERT - 6.0 - INTERT" for CA-InterTest
for CICS Release 6.0. Click the Search button.

TO SEARCH BY PRODUCT GROUP WITH KEYWORDS:
From the main StarTCC menu, click on "Advanced"
under Search Knowledge Base. Under Search Type,
click the radio button for "Product Group".
On the Product Group drop down box, select
"INTERT - 6.0 - INTERT" for CA-InterTest for
CICS Release 6.0.

Type in the Keywords - CTS13 and S0C4. Click
the Search button. This should list all
solutions for CICS Transaction Server 1.3 that
were reported with the S0C4 keyword.

CA-InterTest for CICS and CA-SymDump for CICS
clients can narrow their search to a specific
release of CICS with the following keywords:
CICS41, CTS11 (or CICS51), CTS12 (or CICS52),
CTS13 (or CICS53). Now that CA-InterTest for
CICS (for VSE) is GA, you must also indicate
the operating system as well.

Making things even easier, we have created
links on the CA-InterTest for CICS and CA-SymDump
for CICS eSupport pages that have already
completed the advanced search. For instance,
if you are looking for PTFs published for
Release 6.0 of CA-InterTest for CICS (for MVS)
and you are using the CICS Transaction Server
Release 1.3, just click on the link titled
"Release 6.0 MVS PTFs for CICS Transaction
Server 1.3" on the eSupport page for
CA-InterTest for CICS.

We are currently seeking Beta test sites for
Release 2.5 of CA-File Master.

Enhancements included in this release are:

- Compare extended to PDS members
- FIND command enhancements (find last, find first)
- Enhanced copybook support:
  - the ability to select begin and end fields
  - support of OCCURS DEPENDING increased
    from 999 to 9,999
- Selection criteria arguments doubled
- Repeat command enhanced - now "Rnnn"
  multiple repeat support
- Support for new operators =, <>, >=, <=
- Significant performance enhancements for
  formatted displays
- Improved usage enhancements

CA-Filesave/RCS Rel. 4.0 Beta Site Search
=============================================

We are currently seeking Beta test sites for
Release 4.0 of CA-Filesave/RCS.

Enhancements included in this release are:

- Support for CICS Transaction Server for
  OS/390 Release 2.1
- Journal management functions such as COPY,
  ANALYZE, PRINT supports both CICS/ESA 4.1
  journal record formats and native CICS Log
  Stream formats as valid input journals.
  All output journals continue to be in
  CICS/ESA 4.1 format.
- Recovery Management functions such as GENERATE
  and all TSO/ISPF panels support both CICS/ESA
  4.1 journal record formats and native CICS
  Log Stream formats as valid input journals.
- VSAM forward recovery supports VSAM data sets
  that have been processed by CICS in VSAM RLS
  mode. New VSAM OPEN and I/O return codes for
  VSAM RLS are also supported.
- Duplicate ISPF Panel/Skeleton/CLIST names
  have been eliminated allowing the number of
  SMP FMID’s to be reduced for easier product
  installation.
