If you are still using eSupport, we encourage you to move to SupportConnectSM. SupportConnect offers easy access to the latest product support information and software updates on the web-through access to online knowledge bases and forums, software downloads, issue management options, and other self-service features. If you have an enterprise eSupport user account, you can convert it to SupportConnect by using the conversion link at the bottom of the SupportConnect home page.

eSupport users with Basic accounts should fill out the New User enrollment form using the link in the SupportConnect login box. You will be emailed an activation link in a matter of minutes.

CleverPath™ Portal r4.7 Reaches General Availability
The CleverPath Portal team is pleased to announce the General Availability (GA) of release 4.7. Running on Windows, Linux, and UNIX environments and fully internationalized for ten languages, CleverPath Portal r4.7 includes dozens of new and improved features. CleverPath Portal r4.7 introduces comprehensive new portal-oriented content management services plus significant usability improvements, customer-driven enhancements, and upgraded platform support to the core portal functionality. For more information, please see our recent Press Release and Announcement Letter.

Licensed CleverPath Portal customers active on maintenance can download electronic CD images of CleverPath Portal r4.7 from the Downloads area of SupportConnectSM. For more information, please see solution QO62017.

Updated CleverPath™ Portal Portlet Library
The CleverPath Portal Portlet Library has been updated with an improved user interface that allows for dynamic sorting by name or category. CA offers this service to our valuable CleverPath Portal customers at no additional cost. These portlets can be used by Portal Administrators to enhance and extend their existing deployments of CleverPath Portal allowing even greater business value.

In addition to the interface updates, CA Customer Support has recently reviewed and validated the portlets available within the Portlet Library to ensure compatibility with CleverPath Portal r4.7.

New CleverPath™ Predictive Analysis Server Patch to Allow Larger Data Tables
If the CleverPath Predictive Analysis Server Neugent Provider Wizard is used to train a Value Neugent with a data table that is extremely large, the training process may terminate prematurely due to memory allocation errors. In such cases, the memory used by NeugentProviderWizard.exe may exceed the Microsoft Windows-imposed limit of 2 gigabytes. CA Customer Support has recently made a patch available to allow the CleverPath Predictive Analysis Server r3.0 Neugent Provider Wizard application to consume up to 3 gigabytes of process memory. This patch exploits some advanced Windows memory management capabilities allowing customers to use larger data tables when analyzing their business activity. CleverPath™ Aion® Business Rules Expert: Recent Patches for Release 9.5
AIONBR34 - Cannot return the status value from a DB2 Stored Procedure
CA Customer Support has produced a patch for a problem in CleverPath Aion Business Rules Expert (CleverPath Aion BRE) Release 9.5 where Aion cannot retrieve the return status value from a DB2 UDB stored procedure. The problem persists regardless of whether you use the CleverPath Aion BRE native driver for DB2 or via ODBC. Please see Solution QO61529 on SupportConnectSM for information on the patch for this problem. With this patch applied, you must define an integer marker for the query in order to obtain the status value.

AIONBR42 - ODBC Connection.Execute() Returns an Error when No Matching Rows are Found
Using CleverPath Aion BRE with an ODBC connection to DB2 UDB, there is a potential problem if Aion issues a SQL INSERT with an embedded SELECT statement. If this SELECT statement returns no matching rows, the INSERT statement receives a return code of 6 (ERROR_EXECUTE). Please see Solution QO61540 on SupportConnect for information on this problem and how to obtain the corrective patch.

AIONBR24 - Managed C++ Method with Return Value Does Not Set an Output Parameter Successfully
There is a recently identified problem with CleverPath Aion BRE methods exposed via Managed C++. If these methods have both an output parameter and return value, the method may fail to set the correct value of the output parameter. Please see Solution QO61531 on SupportConnect for more detailed information on this problem and how to access the corrective patch.

Note: All of these patches require that CleverPath Aion BRE 9.5 Service Pack 2 be applied prior to installation. Please click here to download Service Pack 2.

General Information
Return Codes from Advantage™ Data Transformer's Memory Lookup Feature
Advantage Data Transformer implements an in-memory Lookup Transformation feature that allows a user to load a small to medium-sized table into memory for use as a fast lookup table. As with any other rich feature, the Lookup feature can return warnings and errors, both at load time and at run time.

On SupportConnectSM, this recently posted technical document TEC342931 describes the code fragment, DBLookup, that contains Lookup return values and documents their meaning.

Lookups are available beginning with Advantage Data Transformer release 2.0. If Lookups are entirely new to you, please see your installed product online help. In the Mapper, launch the Lookup Transformation wizard from Tools -> Create Lookup, and press the Help button for more information.

CleverPath™ Forest & Trees® Configuration Properties When Publishing a File to CleverPath™ Portal
When publishing a file from CleverPath Forest & Trees to CleverPath Portal, there are a number of properties that can be configured. These properties determine how the published file will be accessed within the Portal environment. This technical document (Document ID TEC345026) is designed to supplement the current CleverPath Forest & Trees 7.0 Help Topics, specifying definitions for a number of properties, and includes instructive example code demonstrating the process of programmatically publishing a Microsoft Excel file to CleverPath Portal.

CleverPath Reporter's interface to CleverPath Portal is distinctly designed to provide your business users with the most up-to-date information. As such, many customers have found that automatically refreshing reports published to CleverPath Portal helps ensure their users are getting the most timely business data.
