SupportConnect is a new product technical support website from CA. CleverPath™ Predictive Analysis Server 3.0 Cumulative Patch Now Available
CA is pleased to announce that a cumulative patch is now available for CleverPath Predictive Analysis Server 3.0.

This cumulative patch includes several software fixes that the Technical Support team has addressed since the release of CleverPath Predictive Analysis Server 3.0. For a complete list of the StarTCC^SM problems addressed in this patch, please refer to the readme file included with the patch.

General Information

Tip for Formatting Your CleverPath™ Reporter Reports
In CleverPath Reporter, a traditional top-down report would typically have the following layout:

Group A
           Item 1    ...
           Item 2    ...
           Item 3    ...

Group B
           Item 1    ...
           Item 2    ...
           Item 3    ...

By taking advantage of runtime reporting variables, you can modify the report so that all items for a grouping appear on a single line:

           Item 1     Item 2     Item 3
Group A     ...        ...        ...
Group B     ...        ...        ...

Changing the report layout in this way can add clarity and allow users to make direct comparisons between the various data groupings. An example that shows how to achieve this result can be found in this Technical Document (Document ID TEC305941).

Reporting Against CleverPath™ EUREKA:Reporter™ Metadata
CleverPath EUREKA:Reporter includes a robust Metadata Manager utility that lets you edit and view metadata. You can also export CleverPath EUREKA:Reporter metadata into a relational database and access the information in a report format. This allows report administrators to examine and query metadata using all the advanced reporting features of CleverPath EUREKA:Reporter. This Technical Document (Document ID TEC265000) provides information on exporting the metadata to a relational database to facilitate running metadata reports.

Deploying CleverPath™ EUREKA:Strategy™ With CleverPath™ Portal 4.51
CA's CleverPath™ products offer a high degree of integration, allowing for a comprehensive business intelligence solution. As a result, CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy users can leverage the benefits of CleverPath Portal to streamline the distribution of critical business data.

With CleverPath Portal, you can add CleverPath EUREKA:Strategy ROLAP publisher reports to individual portal workplaces and make them readily available to your business users. For illustrated details on how to set up this configuration, see this Technical Document (Document ID TEC303910).

Defining User Access to CleverPath™ OLAP Cubes
CleverPath OLAP provides multidimensional analysis of large volumes of data, delivering valuable information quickly. A variety of different users play diverse roles in the definition, publication, and consumption of the OLAP analyses, so they need different levels of security access to the cubes. The CleverPath OLAP administrator can set up appropriate user privileges through the CleverPath™ OLAP Metadata Administration tool. For details, see this Technical Document (Document ID TEC276622).

How CleverPath™ Forest & Trees® Can Use OLE Automation to Write to Excel
An alternative method of exporting data from a CleverPath Forest & Trees application to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet is to programmatically use OLE automation. This Technical Document (Document ID TEC308786) shows how you can accomplish this.

Addressing the "Untrusted Server Cert Chain" Error in CleverPath™ Portal SSL Configurations
CleverPath Portal users might encounter an "untrusted server cert chain" error when trying to access an HTTPS link from a portal workplace or library. This usually occurs when accessing a URL with a self-signed certificate or a certificate from a non-standard certificate authority. This problem can be resolved by importing the certificate into the portal's Java environment. To learn more, please refer to Technical Support Solution QI48645.

Using Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Drivers With CleverPath™ Portal
CleverPath Portal ships with a variety of JDBC database drivers, allowing you to deploy with an assortment of different relational databases. In addition, you can connect to your portal database using alternative drivers, such as the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver. Detailed instructions on installing and configuring the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver can be found in this Technical Document (Document ID TEC308639).

CleverPath™ Predictive Analysis Server Password Cache Error
CleverPath Predictive Analysis Server users might encounter the following error on the Campaigns frame when opening the web interface for the CleverPath Predictive Analysis Server 3.0 Direct Marketing Tour:

Error Type: Integration COM L1 (0x80040100)
Jasmine::Connect: <date> <time> E_PC0001_OPEN_PCACHE_FAILED Could not open password cache.

This error is caused by the Anonymous Access security setting in Microsoft Internet Information Services. For details on how to eliminate this error, please refer to Technical Support Solution QI48849.

Using Strings as CleverPath™ Aion® Business Rules Expert Output Arguments
CleverPath Aion Business Rules Expert users might encounter a General Protection Fault when building applications that contain a function with an output argument of type String if this function is used as an external function in another CleverPath Aion Business Rules Expert application. This is due to the manner in which memory is allocated in these applications. For details on this error condition and how to prevent it from occurring, please see this Technical Document (Document ID TEC312208).

Advantage™ Data Transformer Reserved Words
Advantage Data Transformer shortcuts the path to a working data movement program by letting you lay out the program graphically and then generating the program code automatically. Usually, this is all you need to perform a data warehousing transformation. However, some users have specific needs that require additional code-level customization. In these instances, Advantage Data Transformer allows advanced users to alter the generated data movement code. However, certain words are reserved and have special meaning in the code. These words cannot be used in scripts for other purposes. A complete list of these reserved words is available in this Technical Document (Document ID TEC299746).
