Installation of this new service pack ensures that your systems are current for Unicenter Automation Point. When you are ready to receive this update, please submit the order form which you received in the mail, order online, or call 1-800-637-5858. For customers outside of North America, please contact your local Customer Support Group.

Unicenter® CA-OPS/MVS® Event Management and Automation r11 SP2
is Generally Available (GA)

We are pleased to announce the availability of Unicenter CA-OPS/MVS r11 SP2. This service pack includes all maintenance published prior to this date. Installation of this new service pack ensures that your systems are current on maintenance for Unicenter CA-OPS/MVS. When you are ready to receive this update, submit the order form on the product home page at SupportConnectSM or call 1-800-637-5858. For customers outside of North America, please contact your local Customer Support Group.

Also note the following End-of-Support Dates:
  • Release 4.5 - Support ended on October 31, 2005.
  • Release 4.4 - Support ended on May 31, 2005.

General Information
Unicenter® Automation Point™ r11.1 - Upcoming Beta
CA is pleased to announce that Unicenter Automation Point r11.1 will be going into Beta testing soon. As a current user of Unicenter Automation Point, we invite you to review the enhancements included in the r11.1 release and consider participating in the Beta Testing Program.

New and enhanced features include the following:
  • SMTP - the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) has been added in this release to provide additional flexibility and functionality to the existing outbound email notification support.
  • TN3270 - Native support for the TN3270E connection protocol has been added in this release to provide additional functionality and increase the maximum number of monitored mainframe hosts (sessions).
  • Notification Manager - the existing Notification Manager component has been redesigned to store notification policy information in CA's Management Database (MDB). The Microsoft SQL Server DBMS has been selected as the platform to host the MDB used by this component. The Notification Website has also been redesigned in this release to adhere to CA's UI Standards, which provide a common look and feel across all CA products. The notification scheduling process has been streamlined by allowing individuals to define schedule durations that span midnight.

Unicenter® CA-OPS/MVS® Event Management and Automation r11.5 - Upcoming Beta
CA is pleased to announce that Unicenter CA-OPS/MVS Event Management and Automation r11.5 for z/OS will be going into Beta testing soon. As a current user of Unicenter
CA-OPS/MVS, we invite you to review the enhancements included in the r11.5 release and consider participating in the Beta Testing Program.

New and enhanced features include the following:
  • SSMGA (SSM Global Application)
  • Automated Applications (true ready to go solutions)
  • AOF rule, EasyRule, and OPS/REXX Enhancements
  • SSL Support for OPSLOG WebView Server
  • OPSLOG WebView Server (navigation improvements)
  • RAS program identifies cause for emergency shutdown
  • IMS Manager globally manages databases, partitions, and extents
  • Hardware Management Console (HMC) Support

Hyper APAR Notification
Are you keeping track of the latest hyper APARs?

To learn how you can become more proactive with hyper maintenance for the various mainframe-based automation products and to download the hyper APARs, visit SupportConnectSM. From there, you can search our Knowledge Base by product using the keyword "hyper" to locate all the critical solutions.

If you are not registered to receive email notifications of new hyper APARs, you can register by logging into SupportConnect and selecting "Hyper Subscriptions" from the left menu.

RSU Information - OPS/MVS
We have recently completed certification of Unicenter® CA-OPS/MVS® Event Management and Automation with both z/OS 1.6 and z/OS 1.7 December RSU Level (0512). Both the z/OS 1.6 and the z/OS 1.7 certification were achieved with OPS/MVS r11 SP02 plus OPB0141.
