General Information
Producing XML Output with Easytrieve - Part 1
In preparation for the new release of Advantage™ CA-Easytrieve®, we begin a series of articles that discusses some of the new features and functionality included with this release. Within today's business world, it is hard to read a sentence in any trade journal that does not talk about Web-based applications or providing information for your clients via the Web. This article discusses how that is done and controlled as well as the steps necessary to use that file.

Connecting WebSphere to Advantage™ EDBC® Data Sources with J2EE 1.3
This article is a J2EE 1.3 update to "Using JNDI to Connect WebSphere to Advantage EDBC data sources." It is intended for web developers working on database-driven applications targeted for deployment in J2EE 1.3-compliant application servers. The Java Server Page (JSP) example shows how to use the Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) to connect WebSphere to an EDBC IMS data source. The same example could be used to display data from Advantage™ CA-Datacom®, Advantage™ CA-IDMS®, DB2, VSAM, or any other database with a JDBC 2.0 compliant driver, simply by modifying the JNDI data source definition.

For example, you want to show product sales for each product but also show the sales of each product by sales region. To produce the array of values from a single field (or set of fields), use the TAG and SELECT processing techniques demonstrated in this article.
