DB2 Hints for Your AllFusion® Gen Host Encyclopedia
Performance of your AllFusion Gen Host Encyclopedia depends heavily on how well the Host Encyclopedia is tuned and how efficient the access paths are. DB2 hints are the way to tell DB2 how to process a query. The technical process of giving hints is relatively simple but instructing DB2 on what those hints should be can be a very complex task. This document discusses how to use DB2 hints as a remedy and quick fix to the emerging performance problems.

Where is the IEFAD Within AllFusion® Gen r7?
You are ready to build remote files on your UNIX machine using AllFusion Gen r7, but after accessing the UNIX machine and entering the familiar "IEFAD" command, nothing happens. Was it typed incorrectly? Is it the wrong machine? Is someone playing a cruel joke? Not to worry! In AllFusion Gen r7, you can either use the Windows Build Tool and access the remote files via a client/server connection or enter the Build Tool commands from the UNIX command line to replace the IEFAD. This document provides a visual detailed description of the steps needed to build applications for UNIX using the AllFusion Gen Build Tool or the UNIX command line.

AllFusion® Change and Configuration Management Suite
How Different Time Fields of AllFusion® Harvest Change Manager are Stored
in the Database

There have been many questions about the change in time stamps in AllFusion Harvest Change Manager (CM) releases because of the Daylight Saving Time adjustment. This document explains how different time fields of AllFusion Harvest CM releases are stored in the AllFusion Harvest CM database that can affect the time stamps when the Daylight Saving Time is adjusted.

AllFusion® Harvest Change Manager Plug-in for Eclipse r6.2
The AllFusion Harvest Change Manager Development team recently announced the availability of its first milestone build for AllFusion Harvest Change Manager Plug-in for Eclipse r6.2. Please review the readme for install instructions and release content. This milestone build can be run with Eclipse 3.1, 3.0, or 2.1.x with AllFusion Harvest Change Manager r7. We also encourage Eclipse Plug-in customers to provide feedback directly to the development team through a product forum set up on SupportConnectSM. To access the forum, login to your account, then navigate by clicking Product Forums; Application Life Cycle Solutions; CCC/Harvest; AllFusion Harvest Plug-in 6.2 Milestone; then click on Evaluation. A member of our development team will review and respond to your comments.

AllFusion® Harvest Change Manager - Version Level Package Dependency Report
In AllFusion Harvest Change Manager, read how you may now do a query to report package dependencies at the item and version level. Please remember the Verify Package Dependency option in Promote and Demote only reports dependencies at the package level.

AllFusion® Change Manager Enterprise Workbench r7 Allows Storage of a PDF File
in AllFusion® Endevor® Change Manager

As with other elements in AllFusion Endevor Change Manager, AllFusion Change Manager Enterprise Workbench r7 provides capability to browse PDF elements. If your desktop has IE and Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0, when you browse the PDF element, you could get a blank page. If this occurs, make the following changes in Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0:
  • Start Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0.
  • Go to Edit, Preferences.
  • Click Internet.
  • Uncheck the Display PDF in browser option.
  • Click OK.
This will allow you to browse the PDF file you have added to AllFusion Endevor Change Manager through AllFusion Change Manager Enterprise Workbench r7.

AllFusion® Repository for z/OS r7 Beta Program Coming Soon
The AllFusion Repository for z/OS product team is currently accepting enrollment for the AllFusion Repository for z/OS r7 beta program, which is scheduled to begin in March 2006. As a participant of this beta program, you will have the unique opportunity to gain early access to new features and enhancements, contributing directly to the success of this highly anticipated release. We measure our success on customer satisfaction and active input from beta sites is a key requirement in the product release cycle.

Product highlights for AllFusion Repository for z/OS r7 include several core repository enhancements including support for audit attributes on text tables, easier upgrades for system libraries, and the use of PDSE datasets. New meta data exchanges for XML DTD's and ODBC as well as upgrades to several other exchanges including DB2, UDB, Microsoft SQL Server, and AllFusion® ERwin® Data Modeler are also featured in the new release. Automated Management of the AllFusion® Repository for Distributed Systems Population Center
In the AllFusion Repository for Distributed Systems Population Center, a workspace is a user-defined group of scanner settings (profiles). Workspaces allow you to save a profile for scans that you frequently perform, and group together one or more profiles for batch scanning. Read this technical document as it details the steps that a Repository Administrator can take to ensure that the repository meta data is kept up-to-date by means of scheduling the execution of Repository Population Center Workspaces.
