Navigation Diagram Design - Saving Time Using the Grid and the Taskbar
For those who have experience creating windows and dialogs for applications, the idea of utilizing a Grid feature to help position and align controls at design time is a familiar one. However, for some, becoming familiar with how the Grid's features work, along with making use of the information displayed in the Taskbar, can help make designing windows quicker and easier. This Knowledge Base article explains how.

AllFusion® Plex r6 Beta Program
We are accepting participants for the AllFusion Plex r6 beta program. AllFusion Plex is an architected, rapid application development (ARAD) tool that enables organizations to deliver multi-platform applications in a fraction of the usual time and expense.

The main new feature highlighted in this eagerly awaited release is a C# server code generator. This will enable AllFusion Plex developers to deliver back-end systems for the Microsoft .NET platform, in addition to what is supported currently (Microsoft Windows, Java, IBM System i).

Working directly with CA in our beta programs provides you with a unique opportunity to preview of newest product features. Beta programs provide assurance that our new product releases are of the best quality possible.

AllFusion® Repository Products Suite
AllFusion® Repository for z/OS r7 is GA
We are proud to announce the General Availability (GA) for AllFusion Repository r7 for z/OS. This eagerly awaited product release contains many new important features and enhancements. AllFusion Repository continues to be an integral component of the solutions that CA provides for the z/OS platform.

Core product enhancements include the ability for text tables to support audit attributes, and to write history records, the ability to load extensions from one repository to another. New metadata exchange for XML DTDs and ODBC are now available, along with upgrades to several other exchanges including support for DB2 v8.1 and AllFusion® ERwin® Data Modeler r7.

AllFusion® Repository for z/OS 7.1 Beta Program
Participants are now being accepted for the AllFusion Repository r7.1 for z/OS beta program. Immediately following the highly anticipated release of r7 for this product, r7.1 is focused on new features contained in the Webstation Option (WSO), including:

  • Stored procedure calls in search objects.
  • The ability to query other databases in other RDBMS systems including Oracle, SQL Server and MS Access.
  • Text display from a new report menu.
  • Selected row reporting.
  • Log file processing and logon screen enhancements.

Working directly with CA in our beta program provides you with a unique opportunity to preview the newest product features. In addition, participating in the Beta programs provides assurance that our new product releases are of the best quality possible.

The CA Mainframe Testing Tools r8 Releases are Now in Beta!
The r8 releases of CA-InterTest® Batch, CA-InterTest® for CICS, CA-SymDump® for CICS, and the NEW CA-File Master Plus™ for IMS product are now in beta and are available for customer testing. These releases contain powerful and easy to use new features such as:

  • New IMS data and file management
  • Debugging extended to DB2 nested stored procedures
  • Exploitation of SOA/web services enablement features found in IBM CICS Transaction Server 3.1
  • User-focused enhancements including:
    • Enhanced trace capability with historical data value display

    • Scrollable Keep Windows
