New Security Updates Released for BrightStor® ARCserve® Backup and
BrightStor® Enterprise Backup
An additional security update has been released for the BrightStor ARCserve Backup and BrightStor Enterprise Backup base products to address a previously announced security risk discovered by TippingPoint (www.tippingpoint.com).

The following products are affected:
BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 and below (SP2 does not have this vulnerability)
BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.1
BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Windows r11
BrightStor Enterprise Backup 10.5
BrightStor ARCserve Backup v9.01
CA Server Protection Suite r2
CA Business Protection Suite r2
CA Business Protection Suite for Microsoft Small Business Server Standard Edition r2
CA Business Protection Suite for Microsoft Small Business Server Premium Edition r2

These security updates should be applied to any Windows server running a BrightStor ARCserve Backup or BrightStor Enterprise Backup base product. The security updates can be downloaded from:

BrightStor® ARCserve® Backup - Product Delivery Survey
The BrightStor ARCserve Backup product management team is conducting an important survey regarding our future product delivery process, and your feedback will help us determine the most feasible delivery method for our user community.

BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 currently fits on a single CD. For BrightStor ARCserve Backup r12, which is expected to be released this time next year, the disk space consumption for a full install of the product is much larger than previous versions. To ensure a smooth and complete installation, the .Net framework is included and, for this reason, these required components use additional space hence causing the single installation CD to span across a secondary CD.

We're aware that DVD drives are not as common in server hardware as they are in consumer and end user systems; therefore, we are soliciting your feedback to understand your preference in having BrightStor ARCserve Backup r12 on a single DVD versus multiple CDs.
