Thank you for ordering CA Threat Manager r8.1. With this release, CA Threat Manager r8.1 has strengthened its market position by delivering a truly robust enterprise class anti-malware solution with superior centrally-managed deployment, updating and reporting capabilities.

As part of CA's corporate re-branding efforts, CA is updating product names to make them consistent with its overall brand strategy. Below is a table showing the former and current security threat product names. In this release, the product user interface and documentation reflects the former product name, while other sales tools and the website have been updated to show the new product names.

The CA Threat Manager r8.1 solution combines best-of-breed CA Anti-Spyware r8.1 with CA Anti-Virus r8.1, extending the functionality of both products with a central, web-based management console and increasing administrative efficiency through a common agent, logging facilities and updating tools. The solution warns, detects, analyzes and provides remediation across the enterprise from an entire range of attacks from threats, including viruses, worms, spyware, key loggers, Trojans and other malicious code. The solution results in improved operational efficiencies, increased service continuity and reduced security management costs.

CA Threat Manager is also compatible with and complementary to other security initiatives, including CA Host-Based Intrusion Prevention System (CA HIPS), and CA Secure Content Manager (CA SCM).

CA Threat Manager is backed by CA Security Advisor which has served government and enterprises since 1987. It has also played a key role in helping CA achieve internationally recognized detection and removal certifications for malware and spyware from ICSA Labs, West Coast Labs and Virus Bulletin.
