Coming Soon: The New "CA Support OnLine" Site

About the New Support Site

If you're coming to CA World, stop by our booth to see the new site in person. We expect to complete Customer cutover to CA Support OnLine in the second quarter of 2007.

Here's a sneak preview of the features you can look forward to on the new site.

  • Improved home page experience. Once you log in, the support site presents your open issues, recent and saved searches, bookmarked content, and direct access to product downloads -- all on the home page.

  • New Support by Product pages. We're putting a new content management system in place, which will help us ensure the information we deliver to you is topical and timely. Our new product pages will have the latest information on product updates, notifications, recommended reading, plus links to webcasts, training, and more. These pages represent such a step forward, that we plan to phase out E-News during the summer -- read more about that below.

  • Knowledge Base Search. Building on work done in late 2006, we'll introduce new search capabilities (like the ability to save searches and bookmark content) and improve the reliability of rankings provided with results.

  • Case Management. We're introducing a new case management interface to make it easier and faster for you to submit issues to us. You'll also be able to search and view your issues more easily, sort the results, and export your results to Excel.

  • New Download Center. Most products will now be available through an easy and powerful Download Center. Now, you'll be able to download a product, all relevant post-production fixes, and all needed documentation in one step, all on one screen.

  • More Secure Authentication. Powered by CA SiteMinder, the new site will have better security features, including secure automated password reset functionality.

What the New Site Means for E-News

CA Technical Support recently conducted a survey to better understand your interests and expectations as an E-News subscriber. You told us what you wanted in content -- and you told us what you wanted from us for distribution.

As a result of this survey, we're planning to phase out E-News as an information vehicle, in favor of better methods of distribution.

First, as noted above, the new support site will deliver timely and more relevant content and post it to product home pages so it's easy to find.

Then, in a support site upgrade planned for the end of 2007, we plan to provide Really Simple Syndication (RSS) capability. RSS will deliver content directly to your desktop, PDA, or mobile device. At that time, E-News will be discontinued.

Stay tuned for more information about CA Support OnLine, E-News, and other improvements we're making to serve you better.
