CA Technical Support is alerting customers to a potential incompatibility issue between CA Threat Manager 8.1; CA Anti-Virus 8.1; CA Anti-Spyware 8.1 technology and CA Embedded Entitlements Manager; CA Security Command Center; CA Audit technology.

This incompatibility originated within our iGateway technology.

Customers are advised to review this entire document.

Problem

New CA Threat Manager 8.1; CA Anti-Virus 8.1; and or CA Anti-Spyware 8.1 installations on servers already running CA Embedded Entitlements Manager; CA Security Command Center; or CA Audit could possibly experience performance issues. The root cause relates to a protocol issue between HTTP R1.0 not originally supported in some iGateway versions.

Scope

This problem occurs when - CA Threat Manager 8.1; CA Anti-Virus 8.1; and or CA Anti-Spyware 8.1 - is installed on servers already running CA Embedded Entitlements Manager; CA Security Command Center; or CA Audit.

Remediation

CA has provided an automatic Content Update which is specifically designed for patching CA Threat Manager 8.1; CA Anti-Virus 8.1; and or CA Anti-Spyware 8.1 installations. This Content Update is available through an automatic content update mechanism that will happen as soon as an internet connection is made.

Risk Assessment

Although the likelihood of CA customers being affected by this incompatibility is low, it is possible none the less. If the problem does occur, server/application performance will be negatively impacted. Therefore, CA Technical Support strongly recommends affected customers take counteractive measures by calling Technical Support @ 866-422-2774.
