Requirements

The utility will only install and upgrade your drivers if the following conditions are met:

  1. The machine is booted to one of the supported operating systems listed above.

  3. You are logged on with administrative privileges.
  4. A supported Computer Associates antivirus product in installed on the system.

Actions performed by the update utility

Updated drivers are provided in the form of a self installing executable package. Each package contains all drivers available for the processor type. When the executable is run, it will determine the appropriate drivers to install based on the operating system and antivirus product detected.

The utility will update the INO_FLTR.SYS and INO_FLPY.SYS files located in the WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS directory. A backup of the existing files are placed into the INOCULAN\BACKUP directory.

If the drivers were disabled or set to start manually, this utility will reset the INO_FLTR.SYS driver to start automatically, and the INO_FLPY.SYS to start at boot time. These are the default settings as installed by the application.
